My practice of physical therapy for families and newborns is focused on supporting communication and development. My strengths are found in integrating physical therapy and active listening to the challenges facing families. Together we find pathways and support each other to help babies shine.
Every baby has their own way of communicating; My role is to help you notice what your child is already showing you. I bridge my knowledge and background of working with infants into homes in ways that enhance families connection. My years of experience caring for preterm and newborn babies and can help your family get off to a beautiful start.

I work with families as they move from hospital to home, helping them read their baby’s behavior, understand early development, and build confidence in caregiving.
I mentor family members in creating bonds through understanding their newborn's unique cues and language.

I offer in-home physical therapy for families whose children require neuromuscular, orthopedic or developmental support. I am able to assess challenges in your baby's development and guide your family with gentle programs to improve strength and mobility. Each session is tailored to the specific attributes of the family and child.
All visits are designed to strengthen movement and confidence while reducing stress for both babies and parents.
Physical therapy sessions are on a fee-for-service basis.

I provide a variety of lectures and interactive workshops for people working with families or groups wishing to improve their understanding of newborn development.
These sessions focus on practical skills embedded with elements of understanding each other deeper: how to observe, how to listen, and how to communicate effectively with families navigating the earliest stages of care.

"I have known Kathi Frankel for many years dating back to my time at Children's Hospital of Atlanta and as a friend in the neighborhood. We have worked together with many families whose newborns have had extended stays in the NICU and have complex medical needs. Her holistic approach working with the family (not only the infant) and using evidence based medicine has markedly improved the outcomes for these children. Early intervention is key for the babies. Kathi’s calming way with parents and infants is just wonderful."
"Kathi joined our family when our little boy was just three weeks old. She has a wonderful holistic approach to working with us. Through her gentle, caring nature and practical techniques, we have seen great progress in our son. We love the exercise board she created specifically for our family, so everyone who has a role in our son’s care giving has a consistent approach. She genuinely cares about our family and is fully vested in seeing our son flourish."
"It is a rare gem to find someone who has such passion to help people. Kathi possesses such an incredible depth of knowledge and experience that she can identify problems when they are small and easy to correct. She has truly been a miracle worker for my family!"
